New to School
Good Morning
-
The school gates are opened at 8.35am and a senior member of staff will welcome you and your children into school.
-
The children are met outside by their class teacher, and they enter the school building at 8.40am. At 8.50am registration will take place.
-
Any child arriving after this time is logged on the register as late. At 8.50am the external doors and gates are locked and children arriving after this time need to access the school through our main reception. If your child arrives after 9.00am then they are logged on the register as an unauthorised late and this will reflect poorly on their overall attendance record.
Absence from school
-
If your child is going to be absent from school, parents/carers should telephone or email the school before 9.30am that day.
-
Please avoid making routine appointments e.g. dentists and opticians’ appointments during school hours.
-
Children who have had any sickness or diarrhoea must not return to school until they have been clear for 48 hours.
Hydration
-
All pupils need a water bottle in school for everyday use in their classrooms.
-
St Michael's will be providing each child with a named water bottle that will be cleaned and refilled with water each day. The bottles must remain in school.
School trips
We believe getting out of the classroom and exploring different places provides a much broader education for our pupils and regularly enjoy local visits that are within the normal school day and don't require any transport.
For all other visits, we seek consent either through a voluntary contribution towards costs or using a separate online form where school has agreed to subsidise those costs.
Please ensure you have activated your Magic Booking account and checked that your contact details are up to date!
Collection from school
If a different person will be collecting your child from school, please ensure that you inform the class teacher or email the school office and specify a password.
